The Metropolitan Museum
6/07/2014
Introducing the Metropolitan Museum of Manila! not that it's new, it's just often underrated... it is a mystery how it is very accessible to people and yet only few knows about it and if they do know they don't really plan on visiting.
I was brought here by my spontaneous Manila adventure as seen on my previous post, I was so eager to look for interesting things around and got lucky! Here are some of the photos I took of the museum exhibits, some parts of the museum does not allow cameras.
They are currently exhibiting Brave New Worlds: My Utopia in your Dystopia, which features different types of artworks like paintings, short films, sculptures, etc.
There's something about museums that makes me feel at home.. or is it just the exhibit?
Brave New Worlds offers different perspectives on things we often take for granted, it also presents ironic ideas about different things.
Other exhibits came a bit weird to me... but of course, it's art.
This one was the greatest shock of all, they look cute from this view right? let's try nearer.
See?
The museum also features sculptures by Abueva
There was indeed lots of interesting pieces!
They also feature gold exhibits and other interesting pieces! it is definitely a great place to visit!
The metropolitan museum lies along Roxas Blvd. beside the Banko Sentral ng Pilipinas.
