The Corregidor Island Experience
11/23/2013While my student life is always full of unending rants, there are perks into being in these black hole of knowledge (and pleading). Say hello to our Corregidor trip last March!
I always thought Corregidor is a faraway island- the kind that I'd have to sleep on for hours of travel, but no; we were actually able to travel to and from the island in less than a day!
First stop was the Malinta Cave Lights and sounds show! wherein the history of the Island was laid to us in a well... not your usual tour manner, we were inside a cave where statues of the late Manuel Quezon and other historical figures were present.
Afterwhich, we then on headed to the other parts of the Island!
Feeling all adventurous with my best college bud Layza! that rock was a
few painful (there were scattered stones) steps away from the shore, and
I was not even sure if we’re allowed to go to the waters but we dared
try, and succeeded, anyway. luckily I was wearing shorts and slippers,
the benefit of an accidentally-appropriate outfit.
The ruins held much controversies, they say it's haunted, and my classmates photos can attest to that... lucky me no spooky thing appeared on mine!
We also visited the museum!
And then the light house!
And saw relics of the war.
Isn't it a beautiful place? (minus the sunburns I got)
okay, well to sum everything up, this is
really one awesome trip, and if you’re planning on visiting Corregidor,
trust me, you should really push through with your plans.
on another note, I remember one bus ride
from home to Baguio, I was seated beside a foreigner who keeps blabbing
about how he hates it that he cannot visit Corregidor because the
blogposts that he read before visiting Philippines didn’t give
directions or even contacts for tours; and because I feel bad for him,
missing out on such a supposed to be wonderful adventure, you guys can
visit http://www.corregidorphilippines.com/ (Sun Cruises). And hopefully, he’ll be coming back soon to finally have his postponed adventure.
